TikTok with over 4 million users in Germany

There are user numbers for TikTok in Germany: The service currently wants to have 4.1 million monthly active users in Germany. This emerges from a pitch deck leaked to Digiday.

False TikTok numbers

In addition, it is also possible to read something about user behavior from the slides. German users spend an average of 39 minutes on the platform and open the TikTok app on average 8 times a day. That speaks already for an immense Nutzerengangement. Especially since the videos in the app are a maximum of one minute, but often only 15-30 seconds long. With these numbers, TikTok comes to a total of 6.5 billion video views/month. Due to the brevity of the videos, these video views are of course badly comparable to other platforms.

In addition, TikTok users in Germany are 54% female and only 46%, male.

The number of users of TikTok is probably from November 2018 and thus quite up to date. The pitch deck was leaked through a large advertising agency and also presents the different forms of advertising that TikTok offers.

Germany is the most important TikTok market in Europe

The user statistics also show that Germany is TikTok's strongest market in Europe so far. For example, in France, 4.1 million monthly users are ahead of France (4 million), the UK (3.7 million and still in Europe) and Spain (2.7 million).

To compare that with other platforms: Tik Tok is quite within reach of Snapchat. The reported for the end of 2018 five million active users in Germany. In the dwell time, you are already in front of the yellow ghost app. Their people spend only 30 minutes on average.

Unfortunately, we do not have average age information about TikTok users in Germany. But I would say that this is the most recent social media platform. Certainly even younger than Snapchat.

Of course, the strongest market for TikTok should continue to be Asia. There, the app allegedly had over 500 million users before TikTok and musical.ly were merged. Musical.ly is said to have come to around 150 million users worldwide before the merger of the two apps.
